Welcome to Friends of Franklin Square, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing you with a safe and attractive park experience in the Northeast Mission.  On this site, you will find information about several ongoing projects in the park.  Please visit often to find out about updates and news.

If you’d like to contribute, there are countless opportunities for volunteering, from monthly clean-up days, to fundraising, to organizing events, creating an off-leash dog play area, and maintaining the soccer field.

If you haven’t been able to join us at our meetings, we still want to hear from you! What are your ideas on how to improve the park? Better lighting? Perhaps a dog park? Adult exercise circuit? Brotherhood of Man Dedication

Join us Saturday, November 23 at 10 AM for the dedication of the Brotherhood of Man mural. Come and meet your neighbors at Franklin Square Park. The community celebration and dedication of the Brotherhood of Man mural is hosted by Friends of Franklin Square Park, the Arts Commission and Recreation and Park Department.  The mural was created by Anthony Stellon and gifted to the city by Mayor Joseph Alioto. Franklin Square Cleanup Day

The Rec & Parks Department and the SF Parks Alliance are generously helping us coordinate the event and providing equipment.  We’ll have gardeners from the Rec & Parks Gardener Apprentice Program, and Sports Basement will send volunteers and donate snacks and drinks.  See the attached flier for more details. We will meet at the Franklin Square Playground Kiosk – 17th & Bryant. Mosaic Murals in San Francisco and the Brotherhood of Man Mosaic at Franklin Square
